First time here. We couldn’t decide on a mimosa so we just both got a flight his steak was perfectly cooked and fall apart tender. I’ve never had escargot either so we tried that. Soft and not at all chewy. It tasted like butter and herbs. Everything was perfectly cooked! Ended with the strawberry crepe and we scraped that plate clean. Such a light and tasty way to end our meal! Will be back to try the dinner menu!
The food was great. Service was awkward. We had one waitress introduce herself. We asked her to give us a moment with the menus. Then we had another waitress introduce herself. Awkward! We didn't know what was going on, then the 2 waitresses were talking once the first realized she was taking her table. Talk about an uncomfortable situation, lol. Restaurant was nice. Was surprised that there was food on the floor beside our chairs when we were seated. Would have thought they would cleaned from last tables. Wine selection was good. Would have liked to see a wider selection of wine by the glass. Once waitress situation was resolved, everything went great.
I ducked into Anjou, Thursday, to have a celebratory cocktail after attending a very special function. I ordered a Grey Goose Cosmo, which Dalton the bartender, expertly knocked out of the park. It was delicious. I also enjoyed the Shrimp and Pork Belly Mascarade appetizer. The menu said they are tossed in sweet chili sauce but it was much more on the sweeter side. They don’t have blue cheese dressing, so I ordered some crumbles to add to it. I ordered the Duck Entree to take home and a half Anjou salad to which I also added Blue Cheese Crumbles. They were both good. I did think that the Duck appetizer should have come with more than two Asparagus spears for $32. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is friendly.
I had a delightful experience eating here. To start, the second I entered the establishment. I felt a warm, welcoming feeling. Once I got inside, I did not have to wait long in order to get a table for two. I ordered the BBQ Shrimp & Grits and it tasted absolutely amazing. The staff and our waitress were very polite and helpful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and will be coming back.
Anjou is consistently great! Their service is personal and efficient. You are always greeted with a smile when you walk in the door. You have the same experience whether in the bar or in the dining area..the food is consistently 5/5. It’s a high end restaurant with a “ neighborhood” vibe.5/5 on all counts!
Anjou is a must-try for lunch, brunch, dinner and/or drinks! It’s a great lunch spot during the week. Daily specials and old standbys. Fried catfish on fridays and home to the best French fries in the metro area! Try them with some feta sauce. The daily lunches are all good with solids choices of veggies and/or salad. The brunch is amazing. Benedict’s, poached eggs that are not overcooked and good drinks. Dinner is special. Steak frites. Fishes and pasta dishes. Service is excellent. The bar scene is good and skews more mature. The atmosphere is inviting. It’s a little piece of France in Ridgeland, Ms!
